Chicken & Cheese Roll-Ups

Hello Strangers! I know, I know it's been too long. Life got extremely crazy there for a couple of weeks. My semesters are 6 months long and I am at the very end of my fall semester as we speak. That's been loads of fun... Also, I'm officially an Aunt! My beautiful sister gave birth to a perfect little baby girl on October 27th. I have never loved someone I just met as much as I do her. Marlee Jade is her name. Sweet, huh? Just for good measure, here's a picture. I mean, who doesn't love baby pictures right?!

Ahh! I just want to squeeze her through the screen!

Anyways, I digress. (Which is easy when you are a new Aunt.)

What's in a Name?

This is an extremely simple question that does not seem so simple when you begin the process of choosing a name for your business.

When I started bouncing around ideas for business names I never in a million years thought that this would be one of the hardest decisions I'd ever make. I mean, anyone who really knows me knows that I can't make a decision to save the masses, and I may be a little over dramatic at times (I just get excited about life, okay?!) but trust you/me when I tell you that naming a business is HARD! I knew that I wanted something with meaning and something that was unique, of course, but I didn't even know where to start. So I did what any responsible, studious, well-rounded adult would do;

I turned to Google.

Welcome to Designing the Branch!

Well hello there! Thanks for droppin' by!

I am so excited right now it is almost to hard to put this all into words. AHHH!

This is how this is supposed to go right?!

Okay, regroup. Here we go.

My name is Krystin Miller and I am the woman behind the words here at Designing the Branch! I am a bright-eyed 26 year-old (for another month!) entrepreneur from the wonderful Midwest. I was born and raised in Independence, MO, a suburb of Kansas City, MO. (Yes, Kansas City is in Missouri, not Kansas. Shocking, I know.)

Which, if you didn't know, Independence is not only the birth place of President Harry S. Truman, but also the starting point of the Santa-Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. Our town puts on a "little" festival every year on Labor Day weekend to celebrate; Santa-Cali-Gon Days is the name. Look it up, make a trip to come! It's worth it!

Anyways, back to me!

I was raised by an Army of people who have always reassured me that I could do absolutely anything I ever wanted if I just set my mind to it. Ever since I can remember I have had the desire to create a place for myself in this world. One that only I was responsible for and one that I was proud of. The idea of being my own boss was also very appealing to me. Being able to motivate myself and push myself to achieve my own dreams without having to help others, who have no interest in my dreams, achieve their own.
